St. Joseph’s Convent School is owned and administrated by Jai Rani Province Jalandhar, A registered, cheritable society, that runs several flourishing schools all over Punjab and Haryana. This is also a minority institution with all its privileges guaranteed by the Supreme Constitution of India.
St. Joseph's Convent School, Deep Nagar, is an English Medium School founded under the aegis of the Jai Rani Province Jalandhar and was established in the year 2002. It is run by the sister of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (SABS) under the Management of the Jai Rani Province Jalandhar. Through this institution we offer our contribution of our nation in the dissemination of knowledge to our young minds.
Our Patron
We know he was a carpenter, a working man, for when the skeptical Nazarenes asked about Jesus, "Is this not the carpenter's son?" (Matthew 13:55). He wasn't rich for when he took Jesus to the Temple to be circumcised and Mary to be purified, he offered the sacrifice of two turtledoves or a pair of pigeons, allowed only for those who could not afford a lamb (Luke 2:24).
Despite his humble work and means, Joseph comes from a royal lineage. Luke and Matthew disagree some details about Joseph's genealogy but both of them mark his descent from David, the greatest king of Israel (Matthew 1:1-16 and Luke 3:23-38). Indeed the angel who first told Joseph about Jesus, greets him as "son of David," a royal title which is used for Jesus also.
Saint Joseph
In God’s Providence the noble soul, St. Joseph, who was chosen to be the earthly guardian of Holy Mary and the Foster-Father of Jesus Christ, was born in the family of David the king of the Jews. All that is known of this just man is contained in the Holy Bible.
He was a Carpenter by profession and an example for all those who must earn their daily bread by the toil of their hands. Pope Pius XII gave a concrete expression of the special relationship between St. Joseph and the working class, by proclaiming the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, and fixing the feast on Labour Day, the first of May.
